| Monday | 72.0k | 14.4 hrs | 13% |

Thursday and Friday show fewer darshans with longer waits: weekly temple rituals likely leave fewer hours for general darshan, so the queue moves slower. TTD can serve only about 75–80k pilgrims a day, so on packed days the wait grows rather than the count.
Tips for a calmer darshan
- Go on a Tuesday or Wednesday and avoid school holidays.
- Book a Special Entry Darshan (₹300) ticket on TTD’s official website when the month’s quota opens. We show the next release dates on the crowd forecast page.
- Check the festival calendar: big utsavams bring big crowds.
- Check the Tirumala weather; heavy rain in October to December can slow travel up the ghat road.
Questions
What is the best month to visit Tirumala?
November, December and February have had the shortest typical waits in our data (about 14 hours reported, and only about 1 in 10 days at 24 hours or more). Avoid Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam days, New Year and Sankranti, which are much busier than the rest of those months.
Which day of the week is least crowded at Tirumala?
Tuesday and Wednesday have had the shortest reported waits. Saturday and Sunday are the busiest. Thursday and Friday see fewer darshans but longer reported waits, likely because weekly temple rituals shorten general darshan hours.
When is Tirumala most crowded?
May to July (school summer holidays) and September (Brahmotsavam season) have the most days with 24-hour waits. Weekends, long weekends and festival days are busy in every month.
